The Lake Pacawa Phase 2 project got a huge financial boost thanks to the St. Bronislava Knights of Columbus Council 13880. The council put on a community-wide steak feed on May 21 at Memories Ballroom in Plover. The council donated the money for the food, while Memories generously donated their facility & bar staff to help out. Over 450 folks were treated to a delicious steak dinner with all the trimmings, with all the proceeds going to a great cause: The Lake Pacawa Phase 2 Project.
Phase 2 is a fully ADA handicapped-accessible project that includes the following:
- A splash pad and play area
- A new pavilion shelter with concessions and restrooms
- New piers and boat launches
- Beach improvements
- Trails that navigate the entire perimeter
The entire area is open to the public. Every resident will find something to enjoy at Lake Pacawa
The total project cost is $4.2M. With half of the funding to be raised from private donations & fund raisers. So the local Knights council stepped up to the challenge.
The project has a special meaning to Al & Karen Trzebiatowski. Al & Karen, life-long residents of Plover, have a grandson who is wheelchair bound. Al & Karen saw the benefit of this project for their grandson and the many families in our areas with relatives who have physical challenges that prevent them from utilizing standard playground equipment. Al, being a member of the St. Bronislava Knights of Columbus, asked his brother knights and their families to help with the steak feed benefit, which they did.
As a result of all the hard work & donations, the St. Bronislava Knights of Columbus Council presented a check for $15,844 to the Village of Plover at their June 14th council meeting to put towards the project. Many thanks to the members of the Knights of Columbus & their families, Memories Ballroom, Al & Karen Trzebiatowski and their entire family for all their hard work to make this event a huge success that will benefit the entire community. The ribbon cutting ceremony will be Saturday, July 30th at 10am.
